Do I need to attend the Discover Scuba program before I register to the Open Water Diver course?
No, the Discover Scuba program is an optional program for those who want a 1 pool session try-out before taking their Open Water Diver certification.
Will I be awarded a certification upon completion of the Discover Scuba experience?
No, the Discover Scuba program is only meant to provide a preliminary diving experience. Those who wish to obtain a certification must register to the Open Water Diver course.
Do I need to know how to swim for the Discover Scuba program?
While we will not assess swimming skills and the entire program will be conducted in the shallow end of the pool, we recommend participants have basic swimming skills.
Can I dive if I wear prescription glasses?
Yes, you can scuba dive. You will either need to wear contact lenses or procure a dive mask equipped with prescrition lenses.
Do I need to be physically fit to scuba dive?
You need to be of "normal" health, but certain physical impairments do not prevent you from passing a diving certification. Upon registration, a brief medical questionnaire will help you assess if you can dive.
