Terms of Service

1. General Booking

  • All payments must be made via bank transfer, cash, NETS, or PayNow.
  • Credit card payments will incur additional charges.
  • For overseas leisure dive trips, a non-refundable deposit of SGD 300.00 per participant is required to confirm booking.
  • Full payment is required:
    • 14 days before departure for all trips (otherwise, The Dive Company reserves the right to treat the booking as canceled).
    • Upon registration for all dive courses and local dives.
  • Bookings (course or trip) are valid for 6 months from registration.
  • Prices are subject to change without notice due to factors beyond our control, including but not limited to currency fluctuations, accommodation or airfare increases, local taxes, and fuel surcharges.
  • Unless explicitly stated in the package description, prices exclude: pre/post-trip accommodation, laundry, room service, beverages, excess baggage, passport and visa costs, airport taxes, personal/baggage insurance, tips, and other items not listed.
  • Additional destination-specific charges (e.g., Marine Park Fees, fuel surcharges) are payable on top of trip fees and will be communicated in advance.
  • In the event of evacuation, special transfers, or accommodation needs, The Dive Company is not responsible for any additional costs incurred.

2. Insurance

  • All trips and courses exclude diving and travel insurance. Participants are strongly advised to obtain both travel and diving insurance prior to the activity.
  • The Dive Company is not liable for equipment damage during transfers; however, we may assist in liaising with your insurer.

3. Refund, Cancellation & Postponement

  • Cancellations within 14 days of the activity/departure date will result in forfeiture of the full amount, regardless of reason.
  • No refund will be issued for cancellations of pool sessions or weekend dive trips within 14 days prior to the activity date.
  • All cancellations or postponements must be submitted in writing or via email. Administrative charges apply.
  • Changes to course dates must be made at least 14 days in advance; otherwise, full cancellation charges apply at The Dive Company’s discretion.
  • The Dive Company reserves the right to amend itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • If a trip or course is disrupted due to unforeseen events (e.g., flight cancellations, COVID-related disruptions), compensation will be issued as credit towards future trips/courses only.
  • If you are unable to attend due to personal circumstances (e.g., quarantine, passport/visa issues, illness, injury), The Dive Company is not responsible for any expenses incurred; we may assist in coordinating with your insurer.

4. Diving Packages

  • The stated number of dives in any package is an estimate and not guaranteed.
  • Dive numbers may be affected by adverse weather, illness, personal choice not to dive, technical issues, or safety concerns.
  • No partial refunds will be issued for unused dives under these circumstances.

5. Equipment

  • All rental equipment must be treated with care.
  • Any loss or damage will be charged at rates determined by The Dive Company.

6. Participant Responsibilities & Medical Fitness

  • Participants must be medically fit to dive and free from any condition that may pose a risk underwater.
  • All relevant medical history must be disclosed truthfully in the PADI Medical Questionnaire (or equivalent) prior to any in-water activity.
  • Medical clearance from a physician is required if any “Yes” answers are provided on the medical form.
  • Participants must adhere to all safety briefings, dive plans, and instructions provided by The Dive Company’s instructors and dive professionals.
  • The Dive Company reserves the right to refuse participation or remove a participant without refund if they are deemed medically unfit, unsafe, under the influence of alcohol/drugs, or if their behavior jeopardizes safety or the environment.

7. Force Majeure & Limitation of Liability

  • The Dive Company shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, pandemics, government restrictions, strikes, political unrest, mechanical failures, transport delays, or acts of God.
  • In such cases, itineraries, schedules, or services may be altered, postponed, or canceled without liability for refunds, except where credits may be offered at The Dive Company’s discretion.
  • Any additional costs arising from such events (e.g., accommodation, transportation, meals) shall be borne by the participant.
  • The Dive Company’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific course or trip in question.
  • Participation in scuba diving activities carries inherent risks. By booking, the participant acknowledges these risks and releases The Dive Company, its staff, and affiliates from liability for injury, loss, or damage, except where caused by proven gross negligence.
